What is it about?

Standalone quotes must be marked up correctly. This includes, for example, individual customer testimonials displayed on a website.

Depending on your situation, you can implement one of the following options to meet the criterion. More details can always be found in the linked WCAG techniques.

Mark quotes correctly
To mark standalone quotations, use the <blockquote>.

For quotes within a paragraph, there is also a special HTML element (<q>), but it is often ignored by screen readers and is therefore not strictly necessary.
